On Wednesday the biggest stars in Country music came together for the 2019 CMA Awards. Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire, and Dolly Parton hosted a night dedicated to the legendary women of Country music, with a fresh focus on the females across the genre.
Starting with an opening performance featuring women from every generation of Country music, it's clear who stands at the center of this year's awards. Maren Morris came into the night leading all other nominees, and Carrie Underwood returned to the Entertainer of the Year category after two years of the field being dominated by men. It's a decidedly different mood surrounding Country music's biggest night, but would it show as the winners were announced?
