The song released on the one year anniversary of Russia’s attack on Ukraine and is all about the similarities of humankind and finding the common ground between us including a desire for freedom. The track is the first taste of Paisley’s newly announced, forthcoming album, Son of the Mountains, set to release later this year.

“The song is grounded in observing life in the United States, then to people from other countries who speak different languages and to one across the ocean that’s at war. We start to realize how similar we all are.”

While some may call his songwriting “risky” for tackling real world, timely events, Brad says those are the topics that inspire him most.

"I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night if I didn’t sort of swing for the fence with things like this,” he told the Associated Press. “For me, I’m happiest dealing with stuff as a songwriter that’s very true and very, very passionate. And sometimes I don’t know if you’d call it risky, but it’s more like it’s bigger than me."

Proceeds from “Same Here” will benefit UNITED24’s “Rebuild Ukraine” program launch by President Zelenskyy focused on rebuilding and restoring homes damaged by the current war.
