Brett Young proved he’s the real deal when he made the trip to surprise young fan for her birthday after learning a cardboard cutout of himself was the life of the party.

Brett’s young fan, Abbie, wrote a letter inviting Brett to her birthday party a few weeks back, but when he couldn’t make it, a good samaritan and neighbor took action, sending a cardboard cut out of Brett to the young girl’s house.
Abbie’s neighbor, a famous DIY influencer named Lindsay Dean, posted a video from the party of Abbie opening the door to a cardboard Brett Young, which brought a huge smile of her face. The video eventually found its way to Brett and he decided to fly out and meet Abbie in the flesh.
“I heard a fan had a birthday party with a fake me,” Brett captioned a video montage of his experience surprising Abbie and her friends. “I wanted to see what happened if the real me would show up.”
In the video, Brett can be seen walking into Abbie’s living room and performing “Lady,” for her as she sits on the coffee table with her giggling friends in the background.
“We told them it was going to be on Zoom,” Brett said. “I think they were all a little in shock.” We don’t blame them! We’d have the same, giddy reaction if Young walked into our living room unannounced too!
Dean took to social media to praise Brett, as well as her community with a post calling the whole experience “unforgettable.”
“Trying to play it cool but TOTALLY FREAKING OUT!! The incredible @brettyoungmusic flew here to my neighbors house today to surprise their daughter for her birthday,” she wrote.
“It all started with a cardboard cutout that I casually mentioned in my stories (and how much she is obsessed with him) and HERE HE IS in the flesh! I am SO thankful for this community and making a little girls dreams come true today was probably the highlight of my year!”
