During a fan Q&A session on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Parton told fans a duet between the two Country queens is already in the works and will appear on McEntire’s unannounced, new album.
“Reba and I just did a song together,” Parton responded when a fan asked why she and McEntire had never collaborated before. “We redid the song ‘Does He Love You,’ that she did years and years ago. We did a new version of it, and it turned out really good.”
She continued, “I’ve always wanted to sing with her, and I don’t know why we never did it until now, but we really sounded good together. I think the fans are gonna like it.“
McEntire previously released “Does He Love You,” in 1993 as a duet with Linda Davis, the mother of Lady A’s Hillary Scott. While McEntire has not yet commented on the duet, or her new album, she did recently reveal she and boyfriend, Rex Linn, had contracted breakthrough cases of COVID-19. Read more here.
New music isn’t the only think Dolly teased this week for fans. She also posted an image to Instagram in honor of Book Lover’s Day, which hinted at releasing her own novel.
“The seeds of dreams are often found in books, and the seeds you help plant in your community can grow across the world,” she wrote. “I dream of writing my own novel one day,” she concluded with a winky face and #BookLoversDay.
You have our support, Dolly. We’re ready to read!
