With the recent release of her second album, Good Person, Ingrid Andress is now a regular name for Country music fans, but she admits there are some things about her that aren’t quite what meets the eye, err should we say ear.

LISTEN NOW: Ingrid Andress joins Scotty Kay for a discussion surrounding new music, tour and fans’ biggest misconception about her

Known for her powerful heartbreak anthems, Ingrid admits she is someone who feels her emotions deeply and processes them through her songwriting. While she may draw inspiration from the more difficult times in life, she wants to make clear, she isn’t trying to rain on anyone’s parade.

“I think when people meet me, they’re expecting like, a rain cloud,” she laughed. “I take my emotions and my writing seriously, but I don’t take myself seriously.”

She continued, “Like, I don’t get celebrity whatever [mindset]. We’re all people. I’m never trying to be a Kim Kardashian. I think we’re all the same in a lot of ways.”

Andress continued on to share that anyone who sees her on the road might be surprised by her on-stage presence. “I love making fun of everything,” she shared. "Like, I love self-deprecating humor. I love comedy, so when you come to my shows, between every song, I’m either roasting you or roasting myself or telling a funny story because I get to do what I love to do and I’m having a great time. I’m not serious at all.”

You can catch Ingrid and all her on-stage humor as part of Keith Urban’s current The Speed of Now Tour.

“Keith’s fans are just obsessed with his catalog and his songs and his lyrics. They’re very attentive,” she said of her observations from tour thus far. “They care about lyrics and kind of just chill. Even if they’ve never heard the song before, they still listen to it and want to learn it.”
