
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A person has died, and three others have been hospitalized following a late morning two-car crash on the outbound Kennedy Expressway.
According to Illinois State Police, the accident occurred at about 11 a.m. on the outbound Kennedy near the ramp to the Eisenhower Expressway.
The Chicago Fire Department initially said four adults were transported to area hospitals, all described to be in critical condition.
Later, ISP announced one of the victims had died, while three others were hospitalized with injuries.
As a result their crash investigation, state troopers shut down several ramps to the Eisenhower Expressway.
All morning long, due to constant snow and rain showers, the Chicago area dealt with wet, slick road conditions.
