(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Several people were taken to hospitals Monday following a multiple-vehicle accident involving a school bus in the western suburbs.
The collision occurred around 8:30 a.m. on westbound I-88 near York Road, authorities said.
Oak Brook Fire Department officials said there were at least three vehicles involved, with the accident spanning at least 200 yards.
Nine people were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.
Traffic was back to normal within an hour.
