DIXMOOR (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Two schools in south suburban Dixmoor remain closed today because of a water main issue.

Dixmoor Village President Fitzgerald Roberts said the water mains that broke over the weekend have been repaired, but Martin Luther King Elementary School and Rosa Parks Middle School will remain closed today while the Illinois EPA conducts safety inspections.

A water boil order remains in effect for people who live in the area around the main in the 200 block of West 147th Street.

Dixmoor has been plagued for years with water main issues. The suburb is looking to the county and the state for a more permanent solution.
