CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago Police have announced that a second 14-year-old boy is now facing murder charges in the shooting of a Governor’s State University graduate student in the parking lot of a South Side Walmart in January.

The first 14-year-old suspect was arrested last month.

Now, police said the second 14-year-old was taken into custody by members of the Chicago Police Department and the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Both are now charged with the murder of 23-year-old Devasish Nandepu, who had just arrived here from India for grad school when he was killed.
His 22-year-old roommate was wounded and survived.

They had taken a bus to the Walmart. Police said they were walking through the parking lot when a stolen Kia pulled up, and two people with masks demanded their belongings, and, as they were complying, one of the boys shot them both.
