CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Three children were among five people hurt in a car crash in Rogers Park Wednesday night.
A car was left on its side in the alley, airbags deployed and its windshield shattered near Jonquil Terrace and Marshfield after Chicago Police said it hit a Nissan shortly after 6:30 p.m.
Alderwoman Maria Hadden was at the scene and shared to Facebook the car that flipped was going very fast.
“[It] almost hit a child on a bike, did not hit that child thankfully, but the child was getting medical treatment and barreled into a car with a family inside,” Hadden said.
Two adults in their 40s were taken to the hospital, and three children, ages 10, 7 and 13 were also transported.
The fire department said they were all initially in serious to critical condition.
Police said the driver of the car that flipped ran off.
