Three teens shot near the United Center minutes before rap concert

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Three teenagers were wounded in a shooting outside the United Center Sunday night as fans were pouring in for a concert.

The shooting happened just before 7 p.m. when the First Annual Birthday Bash by Englewood native Lil Durk was slated to start. It was near Wolcott and Warren, close to the parking lots outside the UC.

Chicago police said a 15-year-old boy was shot in the hand and grazed in the stomach by a bullet, while an 18-year-old was shot in the chest and a 19-year-old was hit in the ribs.

Both those young men were in critical condition when they were taken to the hospital.

Officers were seen running in the area but no one is in custody. Police have not released a possible motive.
