(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – The accused Highland Park parade shooter has been placed in solitary confinement following another jail violation as he awaits trial, officials said.
Robert Crimo III’s violation occurred Dec. 21 when he used another inmate’s Personal Identification Number to make a phone call while his own phone privileges had been suspended, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
That has resulted in Crimo being placed in administrative segregation unit of the Lake County Jail for 60 days. He would then be placed in his normal cell block in March.
Crimo reportedly was trying to call his mother. The defendant last week dropped plans to represent himself at trial. He's accused of killing seven people and wounding several others during the Fourth of July Parade in Highland Park in 2022.
