(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – One of the leading critics of Chicago's downtown casino said he worries the temporary location at Medinah Temple could become permanent.
The Illinois Gaming Board reports the average daily revenues at the casino fell by 12 percent last month, compared to its first few weeks of operation in September.
Ald. Brian Hopkins (2nd) said the casino also isn't making as much money as supporters predicted.
“Clearly people are voting with their feet,” he said Friday.
He said he's concerned that the temporary casino won't make enough money to justify Bally's building the permanent casino planned for River West.
The Sun-Times reports the top executive at Bally's recently told investors that the Medinah Temple casino is gaining momentum and should benefit from expanded marketing.
