A reputed street gang leader from Lombard — already accused of trying to give cash to ISIS — is now charged with drug and weapons crimes.

Thirty-eight-year-old Jason Brown of Lombard has been in custody since 2019.  Federal prosecutors say he tried to donate $500 in cash to ISIS, counting it out to someone who was working undercover for the FBI.

The government says they have that on video.

They say Brown forked over another $1,000 on other occasions — money he believed was going to be put to use by ISIS.

Now the U.S. attorney’s office in Chicago has also charged Brown with illegal possession of four loaded handguns and with trafficking in drugs, including methamphetamines.

Brown pleaded not guilty Thursday.
