CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Some employees of the amazon warehouse in Joliet are levelling serious charges against their employer.

They're accusing amazon of creating a dangerous and racially hostile work environment — and of retaliating against employees who complain.  So far, 26 employees at the company’s Joliet warehouse have filed complaints. They say there have been racially motivated threats and issues that have not been addressed.

Some have said that they are concerned for their safety. Tori Davis, an employee, told WGN-TV that when she complained to her managers that nothing was done.

When she threatened legal action, she was fired. Tamara Holder, a lawyer representing the workers said there may be a class action lawsuit.

“We have truly reached a low point in America where we have to go to work in fear that we may not come home to our families," she said on WGN-TV.
