(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – U.S. postal inspectors say another mail carrier has been robbed at gunpoint, this time in west suburban Berwyn.
The armed robbery occurred around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday in the 1400 block of Home Avenue.
Authorities say two suspects are believed to have fled in a stolen silver Toyota Highlander (Illinois license plate CS86136). Officials distributed a surveillance image of the vehicle.
The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the robbers.
No injuries were reported. The incident comes one day after two letter carriers were robbed at gunpoint on Chicago’s Northwest Side. One of the carriers in those robberies was shot in the leg but was expected to recover.
A stolen vehicle used in the earlier robberies was later recovered, officials said.
