CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Chicago police are investigating after an argument between two men on the Southwest Side escalated into a shooting — which police said led to a fatal hit-and-run on Sunday morning.

It happened at about 1:30 a.m. in Gage Park near Artesian Avenue and 56th Street.

Police said a 30-year-old man got into an argument with the driver of a black vehicle. The driver then opened fire and struck the 30-year-old in his left eyebrow.

The shooting victim was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition.

Police said the shooter then sped away from the scene and struck a 27-year-old man with his vehicle. The offender continued driving west on 57th Street, officials said.

The 27-year-old was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center with major injuries to his head and body. Chicago police said he was declared dead at the hospital.

No one is in custody.

Chicago police said Area One detectives are investigating.
