CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) – The Arlington Million thoroughbred horse race will be held this year in Kentucky.
The Arlington International Racecourse has been closed since late September with the Chicago Bears in line to buy the racepark and the rest of the more than 300-acre property.
But the company that currently owns Arlington Park said it will run the Arlington Million on Aug. 13 at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.
Three other stakes races that were held at Arlington Park will also run that day there. Five other stakes that used to run in Arlington Heights are also scheduled at Churchill Downs.
