Armed robberies reported in Cragin, Austin

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Police are warning residents of three armed robberies reported last week in Cragin and Austin.

In each case, a man approached someone, pulled out a knife and demanded their wallets, Chicago police said. When the person refused, the man became violent and cut them.

A robbery happened at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 2 in the 2400 block of North Leclaire Avenue, police said. Another took place at 10:10 p.m. Nov. 5 in the 1700 block of North Laramie Avenue.

A third was reported at 1:30 a.m. Nov. 12 in the 2500 block of North Cicero Avenue, police said.

The suspect was described as between 20 and 30 years old, standing 5-foot-3 and weighing 130 pounds.
