
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Lollapalooza arrest numbers this year were the lowest in five years.
The city's Office of Emergency Management and Communications said there were a total of nine arrests at this year's festival over the weekend.
That's about half the number of arrests made in 2023.
Six of this year’s arrests happened Saturday. Officials said most illegal activity at the festival tends to be fence-jumping and theft.
Police additionally issued seven citations or tickets, and 63 ambulance transports took place Almost one-third of the ambulance transports occurred Sunday. The 2024 total was the second-lowest number of ambulance transports since 2019.
The four-day festival was sold out at its 115,000-person capacity on each day.
