CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago police continue to investigate the shooting of two women at the White Sox game Friday night, while the lawyer for one of them disputes a new theory.
The attorney for the 42-year-old woman who was shot in the leg said his client did not bring a gun into the ballpark. That contradicts some reports the woman had snuck a weapon past medical detectors, and it went off accidentally during the game, wounding her and a 26-year-old woman.
NBC-5 reported the older fan has season tickets and a FOID card. Her lawyer tells the station they had experts in firearms and medicine confirm her wound was not self-inflicted and not the result of her accidentally discharging a gun.
Chicago police said they are still investigating.
