Aurora man airlifted to a hospital after falling at Starved Rock State Park

OGLESBY, IL (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A 23-year-old man from Aurora was rescued Sunday after he fell between 20 and 30 feet at Starved Rock State Park.

Officials say he went into a restricted area of Sandstone Point Overlook and fell, suffering injuries to his head, shoulder, hip and leg.

The hiker was first taken by boat to a nearby field where he was then airlifted to a hospital in Peoria.

His current condition is unknown, but he has been cited for entering a restricted area of Starved Rock State Park.
