AURORA, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Aurora Police Department has announced a new transparency tool.

The Transparency Hub is designed for citizen engagement, according to the police department.

It includes information on dispatched calls for service, police reports filed, community engagement, crime statistics, professional standards, and workforce diversity.

There are also maps showing where incidents have occurred.

This follows the roll-out of body cameras, another transparency initiative, according to Police Chief Keith Cross.

"Our goal is to increase transparency and continue to build relationship with people in our community," he said.

The department has also launched a survey tool allowing citizens to provide feedback anonymously.
