In honor of Grandparents Day, here’s how to keep your family safe from con artists who prey on love and trust with the Better Business Bureau’s Tip-Off to the Rip-Off® on WBBM.

Scammers are calling seniors, pretending their grandchildren have been arrested, injured, or caught in a crisis.

They use details from social media to make their stories sound real—and now, with AI, they’re cloning voices to sound just like your loved ones.

It all leads up to one big red flag: send money immediately.

To protect your family, here are some helpful tips:

·        Create a secret emergency code word only your family knows.

·        Verify the situation with other relatives before sending money.

·        And if someone shows up at your door to collect cash—don’t open it. Call the police right away
