Boy, 14, killed in Bronzeville shooting that also wounds 13-year-old: police

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A shooting left a 14-year-old boy dead and a 13-year-old boy wounded Thursday in Bronzeville on the South Side.

They were near the sidewalk about 5:40 p.m. in the 600 block of East 40th Street when someone opened fire, striking them both, Chicago police said.

The older boy was shot in the chest and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The 13-year-old was shot in the buttocks and taken to the same hospital in good condition, police said.

No arrests have been made.
