CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A Naperville bridal shop owner is giving away a generous gift to some frontline and essential workers.

After a challenging year for small businesses, Sue Cerulli feels thankful to be celebrating the 13th anniversary of her downtown Naperville bridal shop next month. Cerulli said she’s also grateful for all the frontline workers and seen personally how challenging it’s been for them. So, the owner of Bri'Zan Couture wanted to find a way to say thanks.

"What could I do to give back? And the best way for me to give back is give them something that makes them happy, that makes them smile, that makes them live life again, and that to me was a wedding gown," she said.

Cerulli is giving away gowns worth between $1,500 and $3,500 to 13 frontline workers and 13 essential workers in March - 26 total, one for every day the shop is open in March.

Tradition suggests lace gifts for this wedding anniversary and Cerulli enjoys the serendipity.

"Well there you go. I am going to give away a ton of lace for our 13th year anniversary.

Since sharing the offer, Cerulli said the shop has been overwhelmed with calls from brides.

"Everybody is excited, everybody is thrilled with it, everybody is thankful," she said.

The monthlong giveaway starts Tuesday and is on a first come first served basis. Eligible candidates must be engaged and show proof of employment.

A recent pay stub, a current ID badge, or a document that shows proof of employment is required to book a session. Those unsure whether they qualify are encouraged to call the shop.

During their appointment, the brides will be able to choose from a selection of off-the-rack gowns, Cerulli said. Special-order dresses, alterations and accessories are not included in the giveaway.
