(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – There will be some serious star wattage this weekend when Blackhawks great Chris Chelios has his jersey retired.
Chelios tells 670 The Score that Bulls legend Michael Jordan, a friend of his, will be in attendance at the United Center.
“Michael was there since ’83. I got there in ’91, and I met him that spring at a White Sox game,” Chelios recalled.
“They’re going to be here to support me. I got a pretty good rolodex over the span of my career. This is a last hurrah, and I’m going to make it a good one.”
Fans are encouraged to be in their seats before the 3:10 p.m. ceremony Sunday as Chelios’ No. 7 jersey ascends into the United Center rafters. Chelios played for Chicago through the 1990s, as Jordan’s Bulls won multiple championships.
