(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – At least two people were injured Tuesday afternoon when a vehicle crashed into a Crest Hill supermarket and came to a stop deep in the store.

The incident occurred at the Food 4 Less, 1701 N. Larkin Ave., when a vehicle crashed through the front of the grocery store, Crest Hill officials said in a news release.

The driver, a man in his late-60s, reportedly suffered minor injuries. A pedestrian in his late-50s inside the store was struck by the vehicle and suffered non-life-threatening injuries, officials said. Both were taken to St. Joseph Hospital.

The Food 4 Less store was closed until a city representative could do an inspection of the building’s integrity, officials said.
