CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Three people were taken to hospitals after a car crashed into a church in the Grand Crossing neighborhood on the Southeast Side late Tuesday night.
Chicago police said it happened in 1200 block of East 75th Street. The driver of a sedan tried to overtake another vehicle that was making a right turn and sideswiped the vehicle.
The driver of another vehicle who saw the crash spoke to CBS-2.
“It tore up the church because you could see it’s inside of the church, that’s how bad it hit,” the woman said.
The vehicle struck the front area of the church before coming to a stop. Three people were treated for minor injuries. Several citations were issued.
