Is Chi-Chi's making a comeback?
The once-popular Tex-Mex chain disappeared from the dining scene in the early 2000's after a deadly hepatitis A outbreak linked to a Beaver County location.
That fatal outbreak in Center Township, which was traced to contaminated green onions, is still the largest foodborne outbreak in U.S. history.
But now 20 years later, there are signs that Chi-Chi's may return.
A report in Restaurant Business Online says the brand owners have OK'd new restaurants to open under the Chi-Chi's name.
No word yet on where the new restaurants would be located or when they would open.
