(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — It's another sign that summer is on the way, the Chi Food Truck Fest opened for business on Friday at Daley Plaza.
“It's fun seeing people enjoy the cuisines that I create,” Cajun Connoisseur owner Kyle Kelly said.
He served customers from his truck parked in the sunshine at Daley Plaza on the first day of the Chi Food Truck Fest, which is returning for its ninth year. His truck was one of a dozen parked in the plaza.
“Chicago is the heart and soul of the United States; and we have all ethnic backgrounds here where you taste deliciousness from everybody,” Kelly said.
The festival features a rotating selection of food trucks from around the city.
Albert was one of the first in line.
“It was great to be outside and enjoy the sun and then enjoy something good. The food was great,” he said.
The food trucks will be at Daley Plaza every Friday through Oct. 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.. The line-up for each week will be announced on The Chicago Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection social media pages with the hashtag #ChiFoodTruckFest.
