The 144-year-old Greenstone United Methodist Church was awarded a 1-million-dollar grant by the city in 2021.
The SUN-TIMES reports another $200,000 in funding by the city was approved last year.
The engineering firm doing the work says restoration of the landmark church’s 92-foot tall bell tower could be completed by this December.
