Chicago college mascots to be featured at National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum

MILWAUKEE, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- More "Chicagoans" are headed to the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum.

Phil Sklar, Co-Founder and CEO of the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum in Milwaukee, tells WBBM that just in time for National Bobblehead Day on Sunday, the museum is releasing dozens of new bobbleheads including limited-edition bobbleheads featuring the mascots from five Chicago colleges.

That includes: Northwestern, DePaul, Loyola, UIC, and the University of Chicago.

"They are the perfect way for people to show off pride for their school, or player, or team," Sklar said of the bobbleheads.

"All five (bobbleheads) are the same style, which is a lot of fun for fans of Chicago sports.

And of course when Chicago sports fans think college bobbleheads, they think of Loyola's Sister Jean.

"Sister Jean is still in our top three of best-selling bobbleheads of all times and her bobblehead is still available, but this series features the costumed mascots," Sklar said with a laugh.

He said his all-time favorite bobblehead is not an athlete but actually a man named Michael Poll, a manager for University of Milwaukee teams and Special Olympics athlete.
