(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Chicago's first sightseeing boat company is celebrating 87 years on the water this season.
Chicago's First Lady Cruises has been showing off the city and welcoming passengers on board their boats since 1935.
This season, Tim Agra and his brother Bob are taking the reigns of the family business, the fourth generation to operate the nine vessel fleet.
“Growing up, the family business was certainly an important part of our lives,” Tim Agra said. “As soon as I was able to start work at 15, I was here working in the summers on the boat, and I absolutely loved it.”
The company sees more than 3 million passengers a season, he said.
The architecture tours are continually ranked as one of the top tourist attractions in the world.
