Chicago fans among those who pay the most to attend major sports games

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The annual list of the cost of attending professional sports games is out, despite the absence of fans, in most cases; and Chicago fans can expect to pay more than most others, when they’re allowed to return.

The analysis of the costs comes from TNBets.com, figuring the cost of a game by adding the average ticket price, parking, two beers and a hotdog. Chicago sports teams rank amongst the most expensive.

The Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field tops the list for Major League Baseball at a cost of $109.78. Followed by the Boston Red Sox ($96.62); the New York Yankees ($95.91); the Washington Nationals ($95.88); and the Houston Astros ($89.83).

A Chicago White Sox game is considerably lower at $66.58, ranking 12th in the list.

The analysis also found the Boston Red Sox have the most expensive ticket at $60.09; the New York Mets have the most expensive beer, with an average cost of $11; the Washington Nationals have the most expensive hot dog, costing $7.25; and the New York Yankees have the most expensive parking costing $29 on average.

A trip to Soldier Field for a Bears game will cost you $176.15. The team ranks 9th on the NFL list.

And out of the NFL teams, the Las Vegas Raiders have the most expensive ticket at $153.47 and the most expensive beer, with an average cost of $13; the Raiders, Los Angeles Rams, and Los Angeles Chargers tie for the most expensive hot dog, costing $7.50; and the Dallas Cowboys have the most expensive parking costing $75 on average.

The Chicago Bulls ranks 5th on the NBA list, with an average cost of $154.01. The other teams include the New York Knicks ($260.38); the Golden State Warriors ($203.30); the Los Angeles Lakers ($190.76); and the Boston Celtics ($167.16).

The Chicago Blackhawks also made the top five on the NHL list, ranking 4th with an average cost of $153.63. The other teams include the New York Rangers ($182.43); the Boston Bruins ($162.36); Toronto Maple Leafs ($160.01); and the Vegas Golden Knights ($153.36).
