(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A new museum exhibit in Chicago is designed to get people to think more about improving our planet’s health.
The permanent Sustainability Center opened at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. Its central feature is a 7-foot-high floating globe with real-time info from space.
The presentation includes satellite data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, says Jennifer Olson, director of Guest and Community Engagement at the Lincoln Park museum.
“So, you can see cloud cover and hurricanes,” she said.
The exhibit also examines how we can better handle waste through recycling or even re-using.
The Sustainability Center also includes books on loan from the Chicago Public Library with QR codes on them so that you can take them out from your own library branch.
