CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A Chicago native is leading the cast of a unique dance troupe at the Auditorium Theater this weekend.

It's traditional ballet with a twist. Le Ballet Trockadero De Monte Carlo, known by their fans as "The Trocks' is the world's leading all male ballet company.

Dancer Duane Gosa said their performances proves that men too can be graceful, beautiful and hilarious while dancing on their tip toes.

"Unlike a conventional ballet show, there are some jokes that happen inside these ballets, so we make a lot of fun. I mean, you kind of get lost in it onstage. You'll you forget that you're looking at, you know, a six foot something man en pointe."

The Trocks blend drag, satire, comedy and traditional dance training with parody while paying tribute to classical ballet. The 15 member troupe was founded in 1974 and performs one show at the Auditorium Saturday night before continuing their national tour.
