CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Who needs Bears in the Super Bowl? Chicago will have two dogs in the 20th annual Puppy Bowl, thanks to Bucktown animal rescue One Tail at a Time.
“These guys are two little balls of energy,” said Kimberly Thomas, the marketing director at One Tail at a Time. “I like to just refer to them as little clouds because they are so fluffy.”
Both are shepherded poodle mixes. On Team Ruff, there’s Guy Fureri. Susie Zalewski is his proud dog mom.
“It is absolutely amazing,” she said. “I love the Puppy Bowl, so to have my own pup in there will be super fun.”
Zalewski said Guy Fureri will be a pup to watch on Sunday.
“He’s an absolute stinker, so he’ll for sure try to steal the ball from anybody else who has it,” she said.

Arthur will be representing Team Fluff, which means both dogs will be going “nose to nose,” as Thomas put it.
Thomas said the annual event consists of all rescues, and she added that the exposure comes at a critical time.
“Adoptions are at an all-time low right now, and dogs in shelters are at an all-time high,” she said.
One Tail at a Time is hosting a watch party for Sunday’s big game, where dogs just like Guy Fureri and Arthur will be available for adoption.
