CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Early voting in Chicago’s municipal election continues to grow as the forecast calls for more severe weather on Election Day.

The Chicago Board of Elections said more than 154,000 voters have already cast ballots in person while the board has received over 95,000 mail-in ballots. That puts the total north of 249,000 votes so far.

Citing tomorrow’s weather, the board encourages voters to cast a ballot or return their vote by mail at any early voting site.

The last mayoral runoff in 2019 saw turnout at one-third of all registered voters.
