The faculty and staff at Chicago State University have filed an intent to strike notice.

The union represents about 160 faculty, lecturers, academic support professionals and technical staff at CSU.

Members say they could walk out as early as April 3.

The union and school officials have been meeting for a year and no deal. Additional bargaining sessions are scheduled for next week.

The union said the main issues are faculty and staff retention and workload.
