(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – In the Loop there is more proof that the holiday season is really here.
The Christkindlmarket at Daley Plaza opened on Friday. It’s considered the most authentic holiday market of its kind outside of Europe, with pretzels, Gluehwein, crafts, beverages and more.
Among the vendors is Herman the German, with The Sweet Castle, which is now celebrating 25 years at the outdoor market.
Helmut Hamburger with the Bavarian Workshop tells WBBM that his imported Krampus offerings are a top seller. “You can’t get that anywhere else,” he says.
The Christkindlmarket runs through Dec. 24. There are also locations in Aurora and Wrigleyville.
