CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Divvy, the bike and scooter sharing company, has opened its first docking station that can accommodate both bikes and scooters.
More than 230 docking stations have been upgraded for the dual use- the first at Clark Street and Randolph Street in the Loop.
By the end of June, its expected that about 1,000 scooters will be integrated into the new system.
When the pilot program was happening, a big source of complaints was that people just dropped them anywhere.
They were cluttering up the sidewalks. There were also issues with people riding on sidewalks.
There’s now technology that provides a warning.
