CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Police are trying to identify the driver of a car involved in a hit-and-run crash Monday afternoon on the South East Side that left a man critically injured.

It happened at about 3:45 p.m., at 95th and Escanaba.

A 36-year-old man was crossing 95th when, police said, he was hit by a silver Volvo, possibly a 2009 model.

Police released pictures of the car from a surveillance camera.  They said it would have damage to the windshield and the right headlight.

The Volvo was last seen heading east on 95th Street.

The pedestrian was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, initially listed in critical condition.
