CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The Chicago police sergeant in charge of a wrongful raid of a woman’s home in 2019 has been fired.

The Chicago Police Board voted five-to-three to fire Sergeant Alex Wolinski for the botched search warrant of social worker Anjanette Young’s home. Not only did police ram their way into the wrong home, but they also left Young standing handcuffed naked for more than 10 minutes after the raid started.

Young repeatedly told them they had the wrong place. She told CBS-2 she’s overwhelmed and grateful with the outcome.

“Actually, I wanted all of them to be fired, but the officers being fired I felt like was the real accountability for me. The takeaway is that everything I went through I’m satisfied.

The City reached a nearly $3 million settlement with Anjanette Young in 2021.
