CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Full CTA Blue Line service has been restored following an overnight derailment of track equipment.

The incident, which occurred in the 1 a.m. hour, forced the CTA to suspend the Forest Park Blue Line service between Harlem and Forest Park.

No one was hurt, but it took nearly seven hours for workers to rerail the track crane car.

The disruption also impacted the traffic on the inbound Eisenhower Expressway. With workers parking their vehicles and equipment on the right shoulder, there were significant gaper delays during the morning commute.

Shuttle buses were provided during the suspension.

Service was restored at around 8:30 a.m. However, residual delays remain.
