CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Two witnesses jumped into action in South Shore Monday morning after seeing a home on fire.
After noticing the flames from half a block away, a CTA bus passenger said he and the bus driver ran into the homes to alert residents.
Chicago Fire officials said the fire started in one house near 81st Street and South Shore Drive, just after 2 a.m, before spreading to a second house.
Chicago Police said no injuries were immediately reported, but several people were displaced.
Fire officials are still investigating how the fire started.
