CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A cyclist was seriously injured after he was hit by a car speeding away from police Friday afternoon in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood.
Officers pulled over a car for a traffic infraction at about 3:15 p.m. near 87th and Union, according to police.
As they approached the vehicle, it sped away, hitting the 37-year-old cyclist. The vehicle fled eastbound from the location.
He was initially in critical condition when he was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center. The driver got away and was last seen speeding east on 87th Street.
No one is in custody at this time.
