(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – A north suburban woman was arrested this week after allegedly stealing mail.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Department said it received calls Wednesday about a suspicious vehicle lingering around mailboxes in Long Grove. A witness relayed a license plate to police, and a deputy later stopped the vehicle in the area of Bridgewater Lane and Gettysburg Road.
The deputy reportedly observed drug paraphernalia and drugs in the vehicle driven by 44-year-old Gabriella Pollari of Long Grove.
Pollari was arrested and her vehicle was searched, sheriff’s officials said. Inside, the deputy found mail and packages belonging to other people. The mail contained Social Security numbers, tax documents, checks and more, police said.
Pollari faces charges of identity theft; unlawful drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, authorities said. The U.S. Postal Service also is investigating.
No further information was available.
