(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Des Plaines Police are looking for a cyclist who reportedly stabbed a driver, in what's being called a case of road rage.
A 53-year-old Skokie man told police that he and a man on a bicycle got into a dispute as he drove westbound on Miner Street through downtown around noon. That’s when he says the cyclist started punching him and then slashed him several times before riding off.
On site, police say officers provided “life-saving measures” before the fire department arrived to take him to the hospital. The man is being treated for what police call serious injuries.
The suspect is described as a man between 30-40 years old. He was wearing a gray tank top, khaki shorts, and a backpack.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Des Plaines Police Department at 847-391-5400.
