CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Water problems continue for South Suburban Dixmoor, with yet another water pipe burst for their supplier.

The city of Harvey is the sole source provider of water for the village of DIxmoor and Monday morning as village residents and officials awaited the rebuilding of pressure loss due to a previous water pipe break repaired over the weekend, another pipe burst in Harvey said Dixmoor Village president Fitzgerald Roberts.

"OK, right now the water is down. It's down," Roberts told WBBM Newsradio.

Roberts said the low pressure has caused Dixmoor's pumping system to fail.

"And we're just getting seven pounds over here and it burned up two of our turbines," he said.

Metropolitan Industrials is now working on the repairs and Roberts said that he hopes the water can be turned back on by late tonight.

But until then, he said, “Right now, me and the trustees are out front of the village hall passing out water. And the ones that can't make it, they call in and we're delivering water to them."
